Tiong Bahru Pau 中峇鲁饱

Tiong Bahru Pau is a pau shop with a long traditional in Singapore. It has been operating since 1969. Currently it has 7 outlets in Singapore : 237 Outram, Tiong Bahru Market, Bedok Interchange, People Park’s Food Centre, 252 Jurong East, 531A Upper Cross Street, and 190 Toa Payoh.

One of the must have in a pau shop is the big pau. Here the big pau ($1.80) has quite thin and soft skin, with inside filled well seasoned fatty meat.

One of my must order items is this Phoenix puff ($0.90). Like a scotch egg, minced meat encased hard boiled egg. But here it is covered in a crispy golden brown batter. Very tasty and filling.

Fan Choy ($1.80)

Quite a small serving, but tastes quite moist and flavourful.

Siew Mai ($0.80)

Although it scores quite low in look, but it actually tastes quite juicy and meaty.

Egg Tart ($0.90)

The pastry is abit too dry. Would prefer a more buttery one.
