After a rather eventful day, I just want to find some place to relax. We are supposed to begin the nite with a movie preview of “I Give It A Year”. But end up watching a bit of “Saving General Yang” and project problem. First time for me to meet with this type of problem.
I remember Saveur has just opened a new outlet in Orchard. Since we do not have our dinner, decide to come and have a look. No queue and not much people inside. About a group of 8 paxs and 2 more couples.
Saveur’s Pasta ($4.90)
A signature of Saveur’s, pasta tossed with chili oil, fine-chopped Japanese konbu & Sakura ebi with minced pork sauce.
A very simple and tasty dish. Feels that the amount of ebi has reduced a lot. Price wise seems to have increased by a dollar. Found out from Facebook that now you have this dish for takeaway.
Pork belly served with creamy green lentils, soft boiled egg & natural jus.
The lentils is cooked very soft and full of butter taste. The pork is very soft but would like it to be more fatty. Seems ti be abit overcooked too since it looks too brown to me.
Texture of Citrus ($6.90)
Blood orange jelly served with orange granite, freeze-dried pineapple, feuilletine, citrus segments & lime zest.
It seems to prepared way in advance as it is served within 5mins after we ordered it. The plate seems to have just come out of freezer. A bit disappointed for its preparation method. A real pickme up dessert.
Total damages : $33.70
I hope this outlet will remain quiet under the radar so I do not have queue. A place for cheap and tasty food. Difficult to find especially in Orchard.
