La Cicala

Tonite is my first stop for restaurant week at La Cicala.
At $35++ per person for dinner.


We will be having spanish food.



Table setting. Very helpful serving staffs. Our table is a bit shaky but it is adjusted to balance.


The menu.


The serving staff explains to us the menu and asks if we are ok with it.


1st serving



porra : andalucian cold vegetable soup, serve with jamon, hard boil egg, bread crouton, extra virgin olive oil

Taste nice with bacon bits like taste.


piquillo : piquillo pepper stuffed with blue fin tuna and lemon cream

Very simple taste of tuna flakes.


2nd serving


tortilla de chorizo : spanish omelette with capsicum and chorizo

Layers of potato with miced meat.


croquetas : cod fish croquettes with saffron tartar sauce



pastilla : iberic suckling pig pastilla with pinto beans

A meat parcel on top of the bean sauce. Taste of bits of sausage in the bean sauce. The meat inside the parcel looks like tuna flakes.


leche frita : fried creme custard with coconut and pineapple texture

A piece of thin-skin fried item with sweet milk filling, served with pieces of dried pineapple and a scoop of home-made vanilla ice-cream. The dried pineapple is very interesting as it tastes like orange.
